Councillor Carolyn Robbins
Councillor Ms Robbins' term of office ends May 2024. She is a member of Cabinet as the portfolio holder for Finance, Performance, Legal and Governance.
She was Mayor of Rugby in 1993/94.
Biography
Carolyn was born and raised in Rugby where she also received her education. Carolyn has three children who are all now married, two of whom live in Rugby. At present, she works for a logistics company in Lutterworth in customer services. Carolyn first became interested in politics during the 1970s and, as she had many concerns for the country at that time, she joined the Conservative Party.
When Carolyn was first elected she represented Caldecott Ward and she served that ward until 1995. During that time she was appointed to several committees including Housing, Environment, Policy, Management and Development committees. Carolyn chaired the Housing Committee for 4 years.
In 2000, Carolyn was re-elected to the Council for the Brownsover North Ward. From 2002 to 2004 she was deputy leader of the Council.
