Direct Debit payments
Due to a technical issue, council tax and business rates payments set to be paid by Direct Debit tomorrow (Thursday 1 May) will now be paid on Friday (2 May).
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We understand many of our residents face financial pressures at the moment, with council tax one of the main monthly expenses.
We want to make paying your council tax bills as easy and affordable as possible.
So, here's some options available if you're struggling to pay your bill:
Paying your council tax by Direct Debit allows you to choose a payment date which suits your weekly/monthly financial commitments.
Direct Debit also allows you to spread your council tax payments to weekly, fortnightly or four-weekly.

If you're struggling to pay your council, don't just ignore it.
We'll shortly be working with external partners to contact residents by email, text message or voice note to remind you of the need to pay your council tax and outline the support on offer to help you pay your bill.
So, if you're contacted by (01788) 462004 or (01788) 462008, you have received a genuine call from a partner working on our behalf.
If you do miss a payment, you'll receive a reminder letter from us. Failure to make repeated payments may result in a court summons.
Rugby Borough Council has partnered with Payment Plan to offer residents an easier way to pay money owed to the council.
With Payment Plan, you can choose how much you pay, how often and when, so you can manage your payments in line with your other financial outgoings.
If you receive an email from Payment Plan on behalf of the council, please follow the instructions and set up your plan.
Please note - all money owed remains a debt to the council, not Payment Plan.
