You're three simple steps away from making your home warmer for longer

We're rolling out Wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund from September 2025.

It's a three-year programme and we're contacting eligible tenants council ward by council ward, starting with Newbold and Old Brownsover.

When the programme reaches the council ward you live in, we'll be in touch to arrange a free home assessment to check whether your home qualifies for free energy efficiency improvements*.

*Council homes with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D or below qualify for free energy efficiency improvements.

The Government has set a target for all social housing to have a minimum EPC rating of C by 2030. Following a free home assessment, only homes with a confirmed EPC rating of D or below qualify for support from the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund.

Step one - free assessment

We'll arrange for a qualified surveyor from E.ON to visit your home to carry out an assessment.

The assessment helps us understand whether your home qualifies for the programme and what energy efficiency improvements best suit the property.

You'll be called directly by E.ON to arrange a convenient time and date for the assessment to take place. The calls from E.ON start with the numbers 0333.

Step two - proposed energy efficiency improvements

Following the assessment, we create a plan detailing the proposed energy efficiency improvements for your home.

Improvements can include:

  • solar panels
  • air source heat pump
  • external wall insulation, cavity wall insulation and loft insulation

Step three - installation

Approved and trusted contractors carry out the installation work at your home at a time which works for you.

The council and Wave 3 of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund have fully funded the programme, with zero cost for our tenants.
