Starting on Monday 14 September 2026, the workshops will give businesses an opportunity to share their experiences and suggest practical ways to strengthen the town centre.

Discussions could cover council services such as street cleaning, safety and commercial waste, as well as events, activities and other issues affecting businesses and their customers.

Businesses will also be invited to give feedback on The Rugby Town website and discuss what local government reorganisation could mean for the town centre.

The workshops will be independently facilitated by TSOS CIC at the TSOS Unity Hub in Rugby Town Hall. Feedback and questions raised during the sessions will be reported to Rugby Borough Council, with council officers responding where appropriate.

Some workshops will bring together businesses from similar sectors, including hair and beauty businesses and pubs and bars. Two mixed-sector sessions will also take place on Thursday 24 September for businesses unable to attend a sector session or wishing to join a broader discussion.

Cllr Louise Robinson, Leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “Our town centre businesses understand the opportunities and challenges facing Rugby better than anyone. We want to listen to their experiences and make sure their views inform how we support the town centre.

“These workshops provide a valuable opportunity for businesses to speak openly, share ideas and tell us where practical changes could make a difference.”

Cllr Jerry Roodhouse, Deputy Leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “A strong town centre depends on businesses, the council and other partners working together.

“Whether you want to discuss day-to-day services, town centre events or the changes facing local government, I encourage you to complete the survey and book a place at one of the workshops.”

Town centre businesses can view the workshop timetable, complete the survey and book a place at unity-hub.org/rugby-tce.

Businesses can also contact TSOS CIC at rugby@unity-hub.org or Rugby Borough Council’s economic development team at towncentre@rugby.gov.uk.
