Rugby Borough Council is proud to be working with local businesses, organisations and community groups to bring residents a week of fun, inspiring and practical activities celebrating sustainability, nature and community action.

From workshops and events to local projects and family-friendly activities, Great Big Green Week is an opportunity for everyone to get involved, discover new ideas, and help create a greener future for our borough.

Garden Organic online competition

The Rugby Community Champions at Garden Organic are running a competition to encourage people to help nature in outdoor growing spaces. We’re inviting residents of Rugby Borough to send us a picture of how they’re helping nature and wildlife, alongside a short explanation of how their idea will support nature. Examples could include bug hotels, hedgehog houses, wildlife ponds, and bird feeding stations.

Don’t have a garden? Don’t worry! Entries could include window boxes and bird feeders, or something you’ve helped create in a local green space or community garden. It’s not just open to children, we have an over 16 category that’s also open to community groups. The winner will receive a fun prize to help them continue helping wildlife.

For the children’s competition, you can choose from 6 categories:

Schools:
age 0-10yrs or 11-16yrs
Individual/family: age 0-10yrs or 11-16yrs
Local groups (i.e- youth clubs, Scouts, Guides, Home Ed): age 0-10 or 11-16yrs

To get involved, please email your picture(s) to rugby@gardenorganic.org.uk and include your name or community group and written explanation (100 words or less). Good luck!
