Fleas can also be found in carpets, soft furnishings and bedding.

Common signs include:
- small, jumping insects
- frequent bites, often around feet and ankles
- pets scratching more than usual
- small dark specks (flea dirt) on pet bedding or carpets
How do fleas get into my home?
Fleas are often brought into homes by pets, but they can also be carried on clothing, furniture or other items.
Are fleas caused by poor hygiene?
No. Fleas can be found in any home or property.
Can I treat fleas myself?
Some minor infestations may be treated using shop-bought products, but larger and/or persistent infestations can be difficult to remove completely and may require professional treatment.
Will one treatment visit solve the problem?
Depending on the severity of the infestation, more than one treatment visit may be needed.
Do I need to treat my pets as well?
Pets should also be treated for fleas.
Speak to your vet for advice on suitable flea treatments.
Do I need to prepare my home before treatment?
You may be asked to:

- remove clutter from affected areas
