Night at Your Museum - Out of This World heads into orbit on Friday 23 October, whisking visitors across the universe with a fun-packed programme of cosmic crafts and astral activities.

A giant, 360° domed planetarium from the University of Warwick takes visitors on a Great Solar System Adventure - a space mission to the sun-scorched surface of Mercury and the orbiting rings of Saturn to the icy expanses of Pluto and beyond - during Out of This World.

Rugby Art Gallery and Museum has joined forces with the National Space Centre for the event, with visitors able to explore the layers of an astronaut's pressure suit and discover the smells of outer space.

Director's Cut bring a 360° photo booth to Out of This World, placing visitors at the centre of the universe while a camera captures a video or photo from all angles.

You can build - and test - your own rocket with help from the RAF Youth and STEM team, while the Midnight Playground invite you to grab a glowing hula hoop and spin through space, creating your own swirling galaxies and flashing shooting stars.

Let's Move to the Moon, hosted by Discover Materials and funded by the UK Space Agency, reveals what happens to materials in the vacuum of space during a workshop where you discover the best materials to take into space for your moon move - and whether marshmallows can survive the journey.

Out of This World also includes a Neon Planet Craft workshop where you can design your own glow-in-the-dark planet to star in the event's neon night sky of intergalactic inspiration, while the team from Warwickshire Libraries host special, space-themed Book Magic sessions, together with cosmic crafts.

Cllr Maggie O'Rourke, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for partnerships, health and wellbeing, said: "A Night at Your Museum encapsulates Rugby Art Gallery and Museum's ethos of 'learn, enjoy, create and discover', offering families a night of fun-filled adventures and plenty of opportunities to get creative.

"We're looking forward to another busy event, so it's best to book early to make sure you don't miss out."

A Night at Your Museum - Out of This World starts at 5.30pm.

Admission can be booked for 5.30pm, 6.30pm or 7.30pm, with places priced £4.50 (under twos free). Please note, the planetarium - while free - has limited spaces.
