Direct Debit payments
Due to a technical issue, council tax and business rates payments set to be paid by Direct Debit today (Thursday 1 May) will now be paid tomorrow (Friday 2 May).

A temporary event notice (TEN) is used to licence small events which take place over a short period of time.
They are especially useful for people outside of the licensed trade such as community event organisers and charities to licence events that contain any or all of the following:
If you wish to use a licensed premises for an event that involves regulated entertainment, for example a wedding with dancing, but the premises licence does not allow for such entertainment, you may use a temporary event notice instead.
You must serve the TEN at least ten working days' notice before your event.
Unless you submit an online application you must send us two copies of your TEN and also give copies of the notice to the police and our environmental protection team no later than ten working days before your event.
The TEN application pack contains contact details for both the police and environmental protection team.
You do not need to send copies of your notice to the police and environmental protection team if you submit an online application. We will do this for you.
If the police or environmental protection team have concerns about your TEN they must submit objections within three working days following the day the notice was received. Unless the concerns can be resolved a hearing will be held to consider the objections.
Usually, when no objections have been received, we will acknowledge and return a signed copy of your notice which must then be available for inspection during the event if required.
As well as the 'standard' TEN, which must be made ten working days before the first day of the event, there is also a 'late' TEN.
The 'late' TEN can be submitted between five and nine working days before the first day of the event.
However, if objections are received the event will not be permitted to go ahead and there will not be any right of appeal against the decision.
Apply for a Temporary Event Notice
Submitting a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) is a quick and easy process.

Once you have received your acknowledgment and a receipt for your fee, the police and the council have three days to raise any issues with you. If you do not hear from us you can go ahead with your event. You must print a copy of the TEN document you completed to display at the event.
Applying by post is more complicated and time consuming. We can guide you through the online process if you need help - just contact us using the details below. However, if you still have problems applying online you can download the application pack and apply by post instead.
If a counter notice is given in relation to an objection notice you may appeal against the decision. Counter notices can be issued where the police or environmental protection team have concerns over the proposed event and these cannot be resolved after a hearing has been held.
You must appeal to a magistrate within 21 days. An appeal may not be brought later than five working days from the day of the planned event.
The police or environmental protection team can modify the terms of a TEN where they have concerns, but only with your agreement.
This would then avoid the need for a hearing.
Otherwise, there are no formal alteration processes once a TEN is served.
