In response to the survey, Rugby Borough Council has asked the Rugby Community Safety Partnership to make harassment of women and girls a priority.

In addition, locations where harassment and unwanted attention frequently occur, or where women and girls feel unsafe, have been passed to the Rugby First Bid Rangers and the council Community Wardens so that they may increase patrols of these sites.

The council's Regulatory Services team have started working with commercial premises on introducing a scheme where customers can ask for assistance if they feel threatened or unsafe.

The council will work up a detailed action plan for further public consultation later in the year.
