Council Tax Bands 2012 -2013

Council Tax bands for 2012-2013 will be finalised at our Full council meeting on 23 February 2012. The new bands will be published on the website once agreed.

 

Leaflet will be despatched to households early February and available on this website.

Council Tax Overview

Rugby Borough Council is responsible for collecting the Council tax which together with government grants and other income pays for the service provided by Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police Authority.

Check the council tax band for your property

Valuation Office Agency logoThe Valuation Office Agency website (external) provides an online service to check what council tax band your property is in or to check what band for any other property.

This can be useful to know when you move into a new property.

You can do as many searches as you like, but each individual search will be restricted to a single local authority.

Do I have to pay council tax?

Most Dwellings are subject to the Council Tax.

There is only one bill per dwelling, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, mobile home or houseboat, and whether it is owned or rented.

Council Tax is not charged on exempt properties.

How we will use your information

The information that you provide will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and relevant legislation. This authority has a duty to protect public funds it administers, and may use information held about you for the prevention and detection of fraud and other lawful purposes.

This may include, but not be limited to, matching Council Tax data with Electoral Registration records. The Council will also use the information for the purpose of performing any of its statutory enforcement duties.

It will make any disclosures required by law and may also share this information with other bodies responsible for detecting/preventing fraud or auditing/administering public funds. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
