Description
This 9.9 acre (4 hectares) wood was given to Rugby Borough Council following the development of Sainsbury's Supermarket on Dunchurch Road in September 1993 under the planning agreement for the construction, which included a clause that some land must be given to the public as open space.
The wood is a nature reserve maintained by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and includes a pond and a sculpture trail. The footpaths are suitable for disabled people, with the car park situated on Dunchurch Road.
Cock Robin Wood is an excellent example of how the environment can be enhanced through Rugby Borough Council working in partnership with both the local schools, artists, and the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
