Important information concerning Covid-19

From Thursday 16 December 2021, the following restrictions remain in place at Rainsbrook Crematorium:

  • face coverings must be worn inside the chapels (unless exempt)
  • waiting rooms closed to visitors
  • no bearer service
  • no hymn books in chapels
  • no open coffins
  • a maximum of six people may view the charge of the coffin at the crematorium
  • all mourners must be seated at the crematorium (no standing room)
  • chairs must not be moved from the waiting rooms to the chapels
  • no additional mourners to stand outside chapel doors
  • no donation boxes available
  • collection of cremated remains by appointment only
  • no face-to-face meetings with crematorium staff to discuss memorials (please phone or email)

We recommend mourners:

  • do not attend services if contacted by NHS Test and Trace or self-isolating due to Covid
  • use the provided hand sanitiser on arrival and departure

While we now allow the singing of hymns, we do not recommend this due to the risk of spreading Covid respiratory particles.

Rugby Borough Council and West Northamptonshire Council appreciate your support in following these restrictions and recommendations.

All restrictions remain under review in line with the latest guidance issued by Public Health England, government and professional organisations.
