UK based Jonathan Lynch makes work in response to the historical and social contexts of undisclosed, made up, or fabricated spaces. He uses the architecture of the locations to explore the relationship between memory and photography. Bringing places that have been erased from the narratives of the chosen location and its surrounding communities back to life through photographic intervention, these spaces are reanimated despite the lack of human presence. Lynch aims to enable viewers to enter a fictional landscape in which to imagine different realities, while opening a space to question their own.
