Hospitality sector invited to prepare for Tier 2 with business support webinar
Pubs, restaurants, cafes and other businesses operating in the hospitality industry are being invited to join a seminar aimed at updating them on Tier 3 and Tier 2 regulations.
It comes ahead of an expected government review of Rugby’s Covid-19 Tier next week.
The seminar will be held online on Friday 11 December at 2pm. It will be hosted by Rugby Borough Council and will include representatives from Rugby Police, Rugby First, and Rugby Borough Council’s licensing, commercial regulation and economic development teams.
Participants will be given the latest information on the Tier restrictions, dates when these will be reviewed, and possible scenarios for remaining in Tier 3 or moving to Tier 2. They will be given guidance on how to manage numbers and household groups and comply with other measures, enforcement of the restrictions, and roles and responsibilities over the Christmas period.
Cllr Jill Simpson-Vince, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for growth and investment, said:
We know that the current Tier 3 restrictions have hit Rugby’s pubs, clubs and restaurants hard. With confirmed cases of Covid-19 substantially reduced we would encourage the industry to prepare in case the government move Rugby to Tier 2.
“We could find ourselves moved to a different tier at only a few days notice and in one of the most important trading periods in the year. We want to do everything we can to help businesses prepare.”
