By-election called in Rokeby and Overslade ward

Residents in the Rokeby and Overslade ward will elect a new representative to Rugby Borough Council after former councillor Nick Long resigned.

A by-election to fill the vacancy is set to be held on Thursday 22 August. Nominations for candidates close at 4pm on Friday 26 July.

Residents who wish to vote must be on the register of electors by Tuesday 6 August.

Registered electors who will be away on polling day can apply for a postal vote or a proxy vote. The last date for Rugby Borough Council to receive postal vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday 7 August, with the cut-off for proxy vote applications at 5pm on Wednesday 14 August.
