Changes to waste collection services this Christmas

RUGBY Borough Council has confirmed the arrangements for waste collection services over the Christmas and New Year period.

The annual suspension of the garden waste collection service will last for two weeks, starting from Monday 24 December and lasting until Friday 4 January. There will be no garden waste collections during this time. Subscribers to this service who have provided an email address will be emailed with details of how their collections will be affected. 

Black rubbish and blue lid recycling collections due on Christmas Day will be rescheduled for Saturday 22 December. Black rubbish and blue lid recycling collections due on Boxing Day will be rescheduled for Saturday 29 December. Affected households will have their bins tagged.

All other waste collections will remain as scheduled, including on New Year's Day. Bins should be ready for collection by 7:30am, as normal.

The borough council has also announced that its offices will close at 5pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at 9am on Wednesday 2 January 2019.
