Gold for Rugby in Britain in Bloom awards

THE WINNERS have been announced for this year's Britain in Bloom awards.

A gold award was presented to Rugby in the small city category, whose entry in this year's competition came by virtue of being last year's overall winner in the Heart of England in Bloom awards.

Cllr Lisa Parker, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for environment and public realm, said: "Rugby has deservedly built an excellent reputation for the quality of its public spaces, both through the green flag awards and the In Bloom competitions.

This simply isn't possible without the support of the individuals and communities who take part in Rugby in Bloom, and I would like to thank each and every one for their contribution.

"This gold award is an outstanding achievement - I am thrilled that the council has received this award on behalf of the town and the communities we serve."
