The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Queen's Platinum Jubilee logoOn 6 February 2022, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

To celebrate this unprecedented milestone, events and intiatives take place throughout the year, with the centrepiece of the celebrations a four-day bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June.

The bank holiday provides an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate the historic event.

Residents who wish to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee by holding a street party should apply to Rugby Borough Council for the relevant permissions.

Please note – applications for temporary road closures to hold a street party to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee over the Bank Holiday weekend (2 June to 5 June 2022) must be received no later than 8 May 2022.
