Rugby continues to experience significant growth following the adoption of its Core Strategy. This recognises the opportunities that Rugby offers as a location for sustainable development and economic prosperity. As a consequence of recent internal promotions an opportunity has arisen within the Development and Enforcement Team for a Graduate Planning Officer on a three year fixed term contract.
Your main responsibilities will be the processing of a range of planning applications and associated consents, including providing pre-application advice on proposed applications, assessing, preparing and presenting reports on planning applications and representing the Council in any appeals. Explaining every step of the planning process to our customers is vital to our success, and your achievements will be based not only on your ability to do your job but also on putting customer service at the heart of everything you do.
You will need to have a relevant degree or professional qualification, knowledge of current planning legislation and possess excellent communication and advisory skills. A driving license and access to a car for business use is essential.
