Permitted development rights
You can make certain types of minor changes to your property without needing to apply for planning permission by using your permitted development rights.
However, before starting work on your development, it's always worth asking us for advice to make sure your plans qualify under permitted development rights.
Complete our online form to request free advice from our planning team. Please include as much detail as possible in order for our team to provide you with a detailed response.
We also offer free planning advice at the Town Hall. Visit reception and ask to speak to a planning officer between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Please note, we give all pre-application advice in good faith on the basis of the information provided. However, the advice can only be given without prejudicing a decision the council may take on a subsequent planning application.
