The application process

Once we receive a valid application we will send off the DBS check and the DVLA check form.

You will receive your DBS certificate direct. You will then need to bring the original certificate – not a copy – to us as soon as possible. We will not process your application until we have checked your DBS certificate for any criminal convictions.

Once we have received and verified all of the documents, and you have passed the various tests, we can issue a licence.

If there is a query or a problem with any of the information we will contact. We may refer your application to the licensing committee for them to make a decision on whether to grant a licence. For example, if you have any recent criminal convictions we will refer the decision to the licensing committee. If this applies to you we will let you know.

You should arrange your street knowledge test, communications assessment and DSA test as soon as possible. There can be a waiting list to take the tests so you are advised to arrange them quickly.
