Apply for a Rural Development Fund grant

The Rural Development Fund offers match-funded grants to parish councils and voluntary and community organisations.

Grants can help towards the cost of one-off projects or purchases which benefit communities in rural parishes.

Full application criteria can be found in the draft guidance notes

Please note, the council's community grant fund for 2016/2017 remains subject to approval by the council. Councillors consider the grant fund at a full council meeting on 23 February 2016.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible to apply, your application must:

  • be from a parish council/community/voluntary/not for profit organisation (including faith organisations when the project or activity benefits the wider community and does not seek to promote religious belief/activity)
  • demonstrate plans to ensure the grant is spent within 12 months of it being allocated
  • be led by (or supported) by a constituted organisation with its own bank account
  • be seeking a maximum grant of £10,000. The percentage of grant the council will contribute towards any project is based on the population of the parish to which the project relates.
