What goes in which bin? - Plastic packaging

Record details

Material

Plastic packaging

Examples

Rinsed plastic bottles and tops, yoghurt pots, margarine tubs, ice cream tubs, fruit punnets, red plastic food trays, microwave meal trays, empty shampoo bottles. However, black plastic trays, plastic bags and films cannot be recycled and must go in the black bin.

Which bin?

Blue-lid bin

Please do not use plastic bags to wrap recyclable materials. Any plastic bags placed in the blue-lid or green bin contaminate the load and prevent us from recycling and composting.

You can recycle plastic bags at most supermarkets.

If you need to dispose of plastic bags at home, please put them in the black bin. Thank you for your help.
