Description
The Road takes its name from a small landowner, Turchil of Warwick who lived in Bilton around the time of the Domesday Book, when Britain was under the ruling of William I holding 1 virgate, this equated to a land mass between 4 and 7.5 acres (1.6-3 hectares) in modern day measurements. It is believed shortly after 1086 the land passed to the Earl of Warwick, thereafter this landowner fell into obscurity.
As part of the Cawston development, the area also provides a small parcel of open space, which includes a play area for up to 13 years of age.
