Biography
Derek has been married to Marie for 50 years and they have two sons - Daren aged 47 who lives in Australia and Gavin who is 41. Gavin runs a hair and beauty business in Coventry with his wife Jemma. Derek has two granddaughters. His main hobbies away from council business are golf, fishing and natural history.

Derek says that, as a Borough Councillor, he is trying to keep in touch with all local complaints, whatever they may be. Wolston Fishing Club is still trying to obtain the fishing rights to the lakes at the rear of Bluemells. He says that he and the club are still negotiating with Rugby Borough Council on this issue. Earlier this year, he and Councillor Mrs Timms undertook a Ward visit with Council officers and listed several issues which were taken back to the Town Hall for progress.
