Community Forums want your input

Published Thursday 18th February 10

People throughout the Rugby area are being given the opportunity to have their say on issues that matter to them at the latest round of Community Forums.

Community Forums allow people to talk to the police, health service, county council and borough council about things they would like to see changed at a real local level.

There are six Forums covering the Rugby borough area, both in the town and the more rural parts of the borough.

Residents are invited to turn up at the beginning of the meeting if they want to have an informal chat with their ward councillors, council officers and members of their  local Safer Neighbourhood Teams before the main meeting starts.

The formal meetings allow residents to hear about the actions that have been taken in their areas, and are able to set future action plans based on the issues that matter to them.

People in Eastlands and Hillmorton will be talking about Trading Standards and Community Facilities in the area.  In Dunchurch Division there will be the opportunity to hear about water course management, Children's Centres in the area and an update on the rural CCTV system

In the Rugby Town West are, the meeting will hear about community safety and youth services, while in Earl Craven there will be the opportunity to hear about youth services in the rural area, rural CCTV and fire prevention.

In Brownsover, Benn and Newbold, they will hear about local updates including the Cattle Market Development, and hear a presentation on Community Anchors from the Benn Partnership Centre.

At the Fosse Community Forum, residents can also talk about community safety and the health walks.
