Christmas Switch On 2 December 2007

Get ready for what promises to be the best switch on ever in Rugby - This Sunday, 2nd December, the RUGBY FM Christmas stage will go live at 11am with competitions and entertainment

Including- Rugby Army Cadet Force Corp of Drum and workshop for the children - Rugby FM House band-Jukebox Junkies - Bawnmore Infant School - Rugby School Choir - St Maries Junior school - West Indian Club Gospel Youth choir and Avon Valley School.

There will be stalls and rides, children will be able to join in with Circus skills, say hello to the Nativity Donkeys and hear carols and nativity story from the children of St Andrews Benn school. A static Bird display will be in Market Place, Burmese dog carters will be in the town with their sleighs or you can take a short ride in a Horse and Carriage.

Joining you, live on stage later in the day will be some of the cast from Cinderella, the Big Help Academy singers will entertain the crowds with a mix of Christmas, modern & classic numbers. Followed by the ever-popular Fab Beatles, with special guest appearance by Future Proof (X Factor, contestants).

All this before the arrival of SANTA in the procession to the stage led by the Nativity for the Switching On of the Christmas Lights by the Mayor of Rugby, Councillor Mrs Sue Peach, Santa and Future Proof, the day will culminate in a spectacular Firework display, followed directly by Christmas Carols being played by the Salvation Army before the children and nativity lead the way to St Andrews Church for a traditional carol service.
