Tripontium

Share the excitement of archaeologists who have been uncovering the secrets of Tripontium for the past 40 years.

Tripontium was a small Roman town situated approximately four miles east of Rugby and four miles west of Lutterworth. The name means 'place of three bridges'.
The exhibition gives you a chance to learn about daily life in Roman Britain through the remarkable Tripontium Collection of Roman artefacts.

Interactive displays include....

  • BBC video about the archaelogical site
  • Handing pottery, tiles and animal bones used nearly 2,000 years ago by inhabitants of Tripontium
  • Trying on replica Roman clothes like the ones they would have worn.
  • Children's activity sheets and quizzes.
