Voluntary And Community Organisation Grants

Small grants of up to £5,000 are available for local voluntary and community groups to undertake projects and activities that benefit the local community.

Examples of projects supported previously include: support groups, community events and operational costs for local community groups.

Grants for 2010 have now closed. Any available grants for 2011 will be publicised on this page.

To be eligible to apply to this fund your application must:

  • Be from a community / voluntary / not for profit organisation (this includes faith organisations where there is wider community benefit to their activity and the project is not looking to promote religious belief / activity)
  • Contribute to the key objectives in the Sustainable Community Strategy (see section 2)
  • Be looking to spend the grant within 12 months
  • Be led by (or supported by) a constituted organisation with its own bank account

This grant fund will not fund:

  • Statutory or profit making organisations
  • Religious activities or promotion of religion
  • Political activities
  • Any costs incurred before the grant is formally awarded
  • Applications that do not provide the necessary information as identified on the application form and this guidance note.
