Rugby and Daventry Crematorium
Planning application
A planning application for a new cemetery and crematorium off Ashlawn Road was submitted on 2 September 2011. The application was submitted on behalf of Rugby Borough Council and Daventry District Council, and includes some changes made following public consultation.
It will include two multi-faith ceremony rooms, and initial parking provision for 100 cars. Access will be via the existing access road to the Rugby club, though it will be widened in places and there will be changes to the junction with Ashlawn Road.
The proposed crematoria will fit sensitively into the landscape, providing a fitting setting for the garden of remembrance and burial plots and saving a lengthy journey for mourners.
The planning application was approved by Rugby Borough Council's planning committee on 26 September 2012.
