Adoption

The Planning Inspectorate carried out an independent examination of Rugby Borough Council's Statement of Community Involvement which found that subject to the implementation of the recommendations set out in the Inspector's Report Rugby Borough Council's Statement of Community Involvement (November 2006) is sound. A copy of the Inspector's Report is available to download on this webpage.

As there were no factual alterations required the draft report has formed the final Binding Inspector's Report and the SCI has been amended in accordance with its recommendations and was formally adopted at the Cabinet meeting on the 17th September 2007.

Appendix C: Consultation procedure at publication stage

Since it's adoption The Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 has been amended through the adoption of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Amendment Regulations 2008. This has made changes to the way in which Local Planning Authorities produce DPD's and in particular change how they consult.

As a consequence of the timing of this change in legislation, procedures undertaken at the publication stage are not strictly in compliance with adopted SCI. The SCI appendix available below outlines the procedures used during the Core Strategy Proposed Submission representation period and Schedule of Focused Changes representation period.
