About the Rugby in Bloom competition

This year Rugby in Bloom is celebrating its 22nd year. This hugely successful campaign is run by Rugby Borough Council with the co-operation of many local organisations, groups and individuals without whom it would not be possible. A big thanks to all involved.

2011 categories

  • Home and garden
  • Allotments
  • Commercial/community
  • Schools

Closing date for entrants was Friday 1 July 2011

The aim of the competition is to encourage all sectors of the community to brighten up the environment with flowers. There are two parts to Rugby in Bloom - a commercial section and a private section with various categories to enable residents living in the town and villages (with a variety of gardens) to participate. There are various trophies and prizes awarded for all of the categories.

For the private entries the judges look for a good choice of plants, quality of design and maintenance and good use of space.

Many of the displays around the town are sponsored by local companies whose financial support is greatly appreciated, and recognised with signage adjacent to the displays.

All private category entries must be visible from the road and the judges decision is final

  • The closing date for all entries is Friday 1 July 2011
  • Judging takes place during July
